Rainbow Bridge are a Victim Support run service that work with victims of domestic abuse who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and/or Transgender, or anywhere else on the spectrum.
Part of our objective is to raise awareness of domestic abuse within LGBT+ relationships and to raise confidence levels within the LGBT+ community to access support. We want to engage positively with the LGBT+ community to build strong relationships to enable us to promote our services and provide effective emotional and practical support. Duties will include to:
- engage with the LGBT+ community through events, meets and activities to raise awareness of LGBT Domestic Abuse and the Rainbow Bridge service
- distribute promotional leaflets to public places where LGBT+ individuals may attend
- represent Rainbow Bridge at events, including looking after stalls, handing out resources and providing verbal information about Rainbow Bridge and Victim Support services
- signpost LGBT+ individuals to local support services
Full training is provided and travel expenses are reimbursed. Minimum weekly time commitment required is 2 hours, flexible and negotiable with the organisation.
