Choir cycle from Oxford to Penarth in honour

Choir cycle from Oxford to Penarth in honour of the men who walked from south Wales to Oxford to find work in 1928. To mark 90 years since they were established, the Oxford Welsh Male Voice Choir are joining forces with the Risca Male Choir to sing together in St Augustine’s Church, Penarth on Saturday, 29th September.

Carers Drop-in Clinic in Barry on 18 September 2018

Carers Drop-in Clinic for carers of a child/young person with additional needs/disabilities. The Family Information Service and the Carers Support Officer run Carers Drop In Clinics each month for carers of a child/young person with additional needs/disabilities. It’s also open to any young carers. No need to book. Carers can receive a carers assessment and immediate information and support from a range of services.

Have Your Say Survey

As part of the Welsh Government’s Play Sufficiency duty they expect all Local Authorities to carry out an investigation into the time and space children and young people have for playing or hanging out in their local area. As part of this process, a survey is being rolled out nationally, which we are also undertaking locally to help us to build a picture of what it’s like for children playing in the Vale of Glamorgan (and Wales).

Y Bont successful to create a Family Funzone

Y Bont has been awarded a grant of £530,059 for the Y Bont's 'Family Funzone' The 5 year project will engage with disabled children and their families in Bridgend to reduce the challenges they face, in particular isolation and a lack of social opportunity, encouraging them to develop peer support amongst each other, build relationships and enjoy an active lifestyle through activities that include the whole family.
