Attending the Royal Welsh Show on Wednesday, 25 July? Then why not attend Social Care Wales’ event to discuss loneliness and isolation?

In December 2017, the Assembly’s Health, Social Care and Sport Committee published the findings of its inquiry into loneliness and isolation in Wales and the Welsh Government has said tackling the causes of loneliness and social isolation is a national priority. You don’t need to run to be part of race day!

Volunteers are essential in making sure that race day is a huge success and you will be part of a large team of amazing volunteers called ‘The Extra-Milers’ that will help ensure that runners and spectators alike have a great experience. Taking place on Sunday 5 August the event forms part of the Barry Summer Weekenders and will incorporate a 10k race and family fun run.

Barry to host important Charity Conference in November 2018

The theme of this year’s conference is “A Matter of Trust” and will focus on what charities and other Third Sector organisations need to do to help increase or rebuild the trust of the public in the light of recent events and increasing scrutiny.
