Vacancies for Local Authority (LA) Governors – Summer 2018

Applications are invited from those wishing to be considered for current Local Authority (LA) school governor vacancies. The LA Governor Appointments Panel will consider on the basis of the contribution applicants can bring to a school in terms of their skills and experience. Closing date for the receipt of completed application packs is no later than Thursday 7 June 2018 at midday.

The annual Child Safety Event needs your help

We are asking community partners to come together to support the event at King Square, Holton Road Tuesday 10-2pm 29th May.(This is the day after Bank Holiday, market day and half term). We are looking for local magicians, circus skills, face painters, children’s entertainers who would be willing to spare some time to provide an activity free of charge whilst promoting their service to the public.

GDPR Update - The Data Protection Fee

On the 25th May the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into force. In addition to GDPR the Data Protection (Charges and Information) Regulations 2018 also come into force. The Charges and Information Regulations specify the new fees that will come into effect from 25th May 2018.

GDPR deadline - no challenge for GVS expert

The general data protection regulation (GDPR) is a new EU law that will come into effect on 25 May 2018 to replace the current Data Protection Act. It’s the biggest overhaul of data protection legislation for over 25 years, and will introduce new requirements for how organisations process personal data. And before you wonder what will happen after Brexit, it’s been made clear that all organisations will have to comply, which means it is likely we will adopt all or most of GDPR as domestic legislation.
