Barry to host important Charity Conference in November 2018

The theme of this year’s conference is “A Matter of Trust” and will focus on what charities and other Third Sector organisations need to do to help increase or rebuild the trust of the public in the light of recent events and increasing scrutiny. Representatives from the Charity Commission and Geldards LLP will be in attendance along with Cllr. Leighton Rowlands – Mayor of the Vale of Glamorgan.

The National Churches Trust open for applications

Supports a wide variety of projects through their grant programmes. From repairing a roof to helping to install an accessible toilet - and many other projects - their grants help people to continue to serve, and to serve better, their local communities. Wales for Africa Grant Scheme open

WCVA is pleased to announce the first round of the Welsh Government Wales for Africa Grant Scheme is now open for applications. Grant funding will enable organisations throughout Wales to access funding for small-scale Wales-Africa projects. The closing date for applications is 29th June 2018.

Strong Communities Grant Fund launched by Vale of Glamorgan Council.

Last August the Vale of Glamorgan Council launched a new £670,000 scheme to support community group led projects and initiatives. The three year Strong Communities Fund aims to help community initiatives become more sustainable and reduce the need for subsidies to cover running costs and activities. There are a number of application rounds each year, the next round closes on the 3rd August 2018.

Women and girls funding via Comic Relief

Comic Relief is very pleased to announce the launch of a £4 million grant initiative to support organisations that are working to end violence and abuse experienced by women and girls across the UK. The application phase will run from 17 April to midday, 2 July 2018.

GDPR Update - The Data Protection Fee

On the 25th May the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into force. In addition to GDPR the Data Protection (Charges and Information) Regulations 2018 also come into force. The Charges and Information Regulations specify the new fees that will come into effect from 25th May 2018.
