VOLUNTARY SECTOR JOINT LIAISON COMMITTEE (VSJLC)

The VSJLC is the prime interface between the voluntary sector and the local authority. It agrees a strategic statement, called a compact, which sets out the relationship between the local authority, health and the voluntary sector. It is also the key vehicle for ensuring the delivery of the compact and its associated plans. GVS facilitates the involvement of the voluntary sector on this Committee. A vacancy has arisen for a Voluntary Sector Representative whose subject area is “Older People”. Nominations are invited from organisations working in this field.

The Invest in Nature Project is Coming to an end

After a brilliant 3.5 years of events, webinars, resources and engagement to support community action on the environment, the Invest in Nature (formerly Environet) service run by WCVA was closed on 31 March 2019. The service was made possible by Welsh Government funding that has now come to an end.

Exciting times for Y Bont’s Family Funzone project

The Family Funzone project is a new project, adopting a whole-family approach, providing play opportunities for Disabled Children and their Siblings (aged: 4-11 year olds). We will be delivering fun, stimulating, interactive, child-led, indoor and outdoor play sessions during After-School Clubs (Term Time only), Saturdays, Playscheme during Easter and Summer.

World at Play is recruiting for the 2019 International Project!

We are looking for volunteers who want to travel, work with refugees and make a difference to the lives of disadvantaged children. As a volunteer you will be part of a team working with children in marginalised communities in Croatia, Serbia, Kosovo, Bosnia, Romania and Bulgaria. You will be given a week's training in south Wales beginning on the 13th July before leaving for a 10 week adventure.

Vacancy - Trustee to act as Treasurer for Valeways

Valeways is managed by its trustees, a friendly group, all of whom take an active role. We employ a part-time Administrator and a part-time Volunteers Co-ordinator. With the assistance of the Administrator, you would need to provide up-to-date and accurate records of the charity’s financial transactions and report to trustee meetings, focussing on a forecast of cash-flow over the coming twelve months.
